  • Hyderabad: Techno Brain, a leading software solutions provider in Africa, USA and India, announces that it has successfully deployed self-service information KIOSKS to National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Tanzania.

National Social Security Fund (NSSF), a Social Security Institution based out of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, was established in 1997 by the Act of Parliament No. 28. NSSF is a leading provider of social security services to employers and employees covered under the following categories: Private Sector, Government Ministries and Departments, Parastatal Organizations, Self-employed or any other employed person not covered by any other scheme and any other category as declared by the Ministry of Labor. Primary objective of NSSF is to provide a wide range of short term and long term benefits to members and families in need of social security in Tanzania. The fund offers Old Age, Invalidity and Survivors Pension, Employment Injury, Social Health Insurance, Maternity and Funeral Grants Benefit services.

NSSF has taken many innovative steps to meet the demands of the increasing number of members across the country and facilitate them with better services and develop an easy communication between the fund and the members. To achieve this, NSSF decided to expand the interaction points to the existing members and also new enrollments, for which NSSF needed a highly professional IT partner. Techno Brain was selected by NSSF to provide them with an end-to-end solution.

Techno Brain deployed self-service informative KIOSKS at all the regional offices of NSSF and designated strategic locations across the country. These information KIOSKS act as virtual NSSF Officers and inspectors, extending the reach of the traditional desk-bound service to the members. NSSF also required an in-built biometric based security feature in the KIOSK to prevent misuse of services by non-members and protect privacy of confidential member information. To achieve this, each KIOSK has been equipped with smart-card reader and finger print scanner. Every member has to authenticate their identity by inserting their smart membership card and furnish their fingerprint for validation before being able to access his/her account.

With this solution, NSSF members will have the freedom to gain access to their account details and conduct transactions in both in English and Swahili languages. It also provides inspectors and officers with time and bandwidth to allocate quality time for attending important service requests. Additionally, these information KIOSKS will also help the members in booking appointments with their relevant inspectors for specific requests, avoiding the waiting process in long queues. Techno Brain’s solution has helped NSSF to provide better service and enhance relation with their existing as well as new members.
