Hyderabad (Hindusthan Samachar):  The Telangana Congress Committee fears revolt from party leaders to against its list of candidates for Lok Sabha and assembly elections. Though the Central Election Committee has cleared names for 90 per cent of seats and the nominations process started on Wednesday, it is hesitating to announce names.

According sources, the party may announce names only after two more days. Expecting revolt from party cadre, appointed bouncers at Gandhi Bhavan, the state Congress headquarters to ensure protection to PCC leaders. APCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah also reviewed security arrangements at the party office. A

While in some constituencies, party cadre is openly protesting giving seats  to CPI as part of seats-adjustment with it, in some others they are objecting to the selection process itself.

Large number of party workers today staged dharna at the residence of former home minister Sabitha Reddy, protesting against giving Maheswaram assembly constituency to CPI, ignoring her candidature. She assured them that she would honour cadre sentiments and would contest from Maheswaram. They have also demanded her to field her son Karthik Reddy as independent candidate from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, if the party failed to give him seat.

Earlier, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy countered attempts of Ponnala Lakshmaiah to contest from here to Lok Sabha denying ticket to the sitting MP. If the party was against him, he was prepared to field his daughter-in-law. However, the party high command stood by Reddy-side.

Sitting CPI MLA Dr B Chadnravathi from Waira constituency of Khammam district also planned to join Congress and contest as its candidate, since the CPI refused to re-nominate her. But now as part of seat-adjustment the Congress left the seat to CPI and the left party named some other candidate, now she is looking towards other parties for her rescue.
