GUWAHATI : Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that at least three commando battalionpolice have been deployed along the border with Mizoram. At least 4000 Commandos of Assam Police will be deployed at three locations: Olamandi, Karimganj and Silchar,” Sarma said. Mizoram had opened fire with a light machine gun (LMG) for about 30 to 35 minutes in which five police personnel were killed. Biswa Sarma said, It was really unfortunate. Such firing is rare, especially within a country. CM Sarma further said, it can happen on the international border when a foreign country attacks. He said, at least 42 people including the SP of Cachar sustained injuries in the firing incident. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has claimed that not even an inch of land has been found in the state due to monday’s clash with Mizoram.
