  • The Assam government will give Rs. 100 per day to the girl students to go to school

    Guwahati : Due to corona epidemic, all students are afraid of coming to school. That is why the government has prepared a sack scheme to bring all the students to school. The Assam government has launched the scheme from the month of January. Assam Education Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma said that his government will provide scooters and financial allowances to girl students to ensure that they come to school classes regularly.

    Every student will be given Rs. 100 per day on a per day basis. Girls will use this amount for school expenses. Hemant Biswa Sarma, in a press conference, announced the Assam government for school girls and said that his government will now give scooters to girls studying in school. However, the state Government of Assam is distributing 22,000 two-wheelers under pragyan Bharati scheme to students who have passed the 12th Board examination. The scheme will cost Rs 144.30 crore. Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the government would provide scooters to all students who have passed the first class from the State board. Even if this number crosses one lakh. Scooters will also be provided to all girl students who pass class XII examination in first class in 2018 and 2019. The scheme of financial assistance for girls is yet to be announced.

    The Assam government will announce it by the end of this month. Hemant Biswa Sarma said that every student will be given Rs 100 per day on a day basis. Girls will use this amount for school expenses. At the same time, the girls who take the undergraduate course will be given Rs. 1500 and Rs. 2, 000 to post graduate girls. Education Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma said that he had made a mind to launch the scheme last year, but it took a break due to the corona virus. Sarma joined a bicycle rally in Guwahati on Monday where he distributed scooters to girls. In Assam, schools have been closed for the last 10 months between Corona but it has been reopened on January one. On Monday, the students participated in the bicycle rally programme. Recently, the Government of Assam had announced that madarsas which have been running for years will be closed and will be taught like other schools. The government will also go ahead and close the Sanskrit school. There is a plan to close madarsas running from government funds.

    A few days ago, the bill to close Madarsas was also passed in the Assembly session. Hemant Biswa Sarma said that the state will no longer have dharma-based studies but also in madrassa like common schools. However, madrassa teachers or non-teaching staff will not be removed. Hemant Biswa Sarmane had arrived at a government event. The programme distributed bikes to the girl students who had passed the first class last year. In this programme, 948 girl students were given scooty while more than 15000 girl students will be given schools in February. The minister said that the government will continue to give two wheelers to girl students even if one lakh girls do not pass in the first class. He said that in 2020, 22,245 girl students have made inter-pass in first class. The government will spend Rs 144.30 crore to give bikes to these girl students. Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that an amount of Rs. 1,500 and 2,000 will be deposited in the bank accounts of undergraduate and postgraduate students by the end of January. This amount will help in the purchase of their book and other study material etc. He further said that both the financial incentive scheme was to be launched last year, but could not be started due to corona.
