  • THE GATE ACADEMY coronated top engineering talent with the finale of National Engineering Challenge 2015

    Bangalore: THE GATE ACADEMY, the premier institution for quality GATE education driven by technology and coaching,  hosted the much-awaited final round of National Engineering Challenge (NEC) 2015 today. The event, held at The Park, 14/7  MG Road, Bangalore, is aimed at empowering engineering Winnersstudents and exposing them to a national-level competition. The finale witnessed the 5 teams competing with each other for a cash prize worth Rs. 1, 00,000, whereas the runner-up team got prizes worth Rs.50,000. The event was co-sponsored by Olx.in, Pinig Tablet, Helios lifestyle Pvt. Ltd and Course Kart.

    Kranthi from Vijayawada and Nikhil Harish from Coimbatore, representing the Southern Stephens team were announced as winners. Whereas, Dushyant Khandiya from Delhi and Prakhar Gupta from Jaipur, representing the  Northern Newtons were announced as the runner-up team.

    Commenting on the final chapter of this challenge, Mr Nitin Rakesh Prasad, Co-founder, THE GATE ACADEMY said, “We proudly congratulate all the finalists as well as everyone who participated in this challenge. I am quite impressed by all those students who have managed to reach this level after going through our intensive and challenging rounds. The National Engineering Challenge 2015 is expected to be one of the biggest and most prestigious scholarship quizzes in India for engineering students. Witnessing the enthusiasm among them so far, it seems we have been successful in our effort to spread awareness and bring these future engineers to the forefront.”

    The contest, which was bifurcated in three different rounds viz. preliminary, zonal and final, witnessed 81,000 students participating from 137 cities across the country. The 100 students who qualified for the zonal round from 50 centres were given free classroom coaching programmes worth Rs.25, 000. Out of the 100, 10 outstanding students were selected and given free tabGATE, complete GATE content preloaded on tablet worth Rs.12,000. Finals happening in Bangalore in a group of 5 teams The Finale event was kick-started with an interactive session to understand the students’ goals and guide them in the right direction. The sessions were conducted by a panel of top industry experts including Mr. Krishna Kant (General Electrical), Mr. V.Manohar (Qualcomm) and Mr. Rajiv Banerjee (Scientist at Department of Atomic energy) to name a few. The winning team won a cash prize worth Rs. 1,00,000 and the runner-up team  got prizes worth Rs.,50,000.
