Guwahati: The Indian Air Force is closely monitoring Chinese drone activities along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Northeast. According to reports, there have been several instances where Chinese drones tried to enter Indian territory in the Northeast.

Defence sources said the Indian Air Force keeps a close watch on flight activities with its robust radar network in the Northeast. The sources further said that normally the situation is peaceful but in recent times there have been occasions when Chinese drones have flown towards the LAC from their side and IAF fighter jets had to be chased away from our frontline airbase including Su30 MKIS.

He said action should be taken as drones or any aircraft cannot be allowed to violate airspace. The Indian Air Force in particular has a strong presence in the Northeast with Su30 fighter jet squadrons. The Su30 Squadron has been deployed at Tezpur and Chhabra Air Force stations in Assam. Apart from this, Rafale fighter jets have also been deployed very close to Hashimara in West Bengal.
