Pune: In alignment with the belief that every child is unique and possesses distinct talents, The Lexicon Schools proudly organized ‘MI Fest’ across all its campuses over different time periods. The event, showcased the culmination of the school’s commitment to the theory of Multiple Intelligences proposed by Howard Gardner.
All the campuses of The Lexicon Schools and Lexicon Kids participated on different themes like Herbal life, Space and Sustainability. At, The Lexicon International School, Kalyaninagar, parents witnessed students from different classes presenting their understanding of ‘HERBAL LIFE’ through all nine intelligences. The presentations ranged from linguistic and musical intelligences to logical, visual, and naturalistic intelligences. Students engaged in activities like puzzles, word games, dramatization, songs and rap to express their appreciation for Ayurveda and Ayurvedic herbs.
The fest not only delved into the diverse world of herbs but also explored topics such as Balanced Diet, Nutritional content, Colour Therapy, Acupressure, Yoga, Aerobics, Herbal Culture, Aromatherapy, Sound Therapy, and Chakra Healing. The event was not limited to academic exploration; it also touched upon Sustainable Development Goals, India’s G20 presidency theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, and the significance of 2023 being the International Year of Millets.
The MI Fest successfully incorporated holistic development, encouraging students to showcase their talents and enhancing their confidence. The diverse array of presentations reflected the hard work and dedication of both students and teachers.
The Lexicon Schools continued its commitment to fostering diverse forms of intelligence with another edition of MI Fest themed around ‘Space and Technology’ in November 2023 which was held at The Lexicon School, Hadapsar.
The fest began with a captivating dance performance by students, showcasing their kinesthetic and visual-spatial intelligence. Distinguished judges from The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for IT and BT were present to evaluate the projects, and the event was inaugurated by Mrs. Anju Luthra, the Deputy Director of The Lexicon Schools.
Ms Monisha Sharma the Director of The Lexicon Group was praised and acknowledged for her role in fostering enthusiasm and scientific aptitude among the students as this MI fest is very close to her heart. The Lexicon Schools remain dedicated to providing a holistic education that nurtures individual talents and prepares students for the challenges of the future.
The festival featured booths highlighting different forms of intelligences, following Howard Gardner’s theory, and encouraged students to identify their strengths and passions. Performances, including musical renditions and Nukkad natak, showcased the artistic and creative talents of the students, emphasizing the interplay between arts and sciences.
The ‘Space and Technology’ MI Fest provided an exceptional platform for students to explore their interests, fostering a passion for learning, innovation, and collaboration. The event received accolades from parents and teachers, highlighting the importance of nurturing young minds into future scientists.
The third part of MI fest has been lined up on the theme “Sustainability” which will be conducted at The Lexicon International School, Wagholi in the month of December.
