London : A free website that puts essential school information at parents’ fingertips launches today.
School Guide brings school statistics together in one place from several websites including the Department of Education and Ofsted and makes it quick and easy for parents to choose the best school for their child.
Using School Guide parents can:
• Find any school in England with its interactive search tool
• See current school data in a clear visual format on each School Page
• Compare local schools at the touch of a button
• Get a School Guide Rating to see how a school ranks nationally
• Plot performance of a school in the School Guide League
• Share knowledge on local schools by adding comments via Facebook or DISQUS
One parent, Kate Betts from Bath, has already found the site invaluable: “Wow. So useful! Even as a primary teacher myself I don’t really know where to start with schools. This site sets out the data so clearly and means that in two minutes I have pretty much made up my mind about where my son will go next September.”
Bright, modern and simple to navigate, School Guide uses colour coding to show types of schools (Primary, Secondary and Independent) and gives each school a unique rating.
