Kokrajhar : The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has declared the list of two more party candidatures for the forth coming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections scheduled sometime in April –May 2020 bringing the total list to 18.
BPF party president and chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary today announced the name of Reo Reoreoa Narzary as party candidate from Jomduar constituency and Panbai Basumatary from Baganpara constituency at a mass gathering organised by the Women wing of the Bodoland People’s Front at Bishmuri in Kokrajhar .
Mohilary had on February 17 last declared the list of 15 party candidatures.
Thousands of women participated in the mass gathering organised by the Women wing of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF).
The rally aimed to show of strength of the ruling Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) ahead of the forthcoming election to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) scheduled sometime in April-May.
Party president and chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary, Rajya Sabha MP and BPF Working President Biswajit Daimary, minister Pramila Rani Brahma, President Women BPF Supriya Rani Brahma participated and addressed the huge gathering.
Addressing the gathering, party president and chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary said that BPF will win election and formed the government in BTC with absolute majority. He said the other party are not a factor to the BPF.
Mohilary also announced grant to 500 Self Help Groups(SHG) from each 40 constituencies in BTC and a bicycle each to Mid-day workers of LP school and ASHA workers.
Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary, said participation of thousands women in the rally shows the love of the people towards the ruling BPF lead by BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary. He said the BPF under Hagrama Mohilary will come back to power.
Daimary stated the participation of women proves that the party is strong and ever and many people who had earlier supported other political units are now rooting for the ruling party to continue its domination in BTC polls.
The meeting was also attended party MLAs, BTC executive members, members of Bodoland Students Union among others.
