  • Thousands of devotees take holy dip during final Shahi Snan at Kumbh Mela

    In Uttar Pradesh, the holy bathing of Basant Panchami Parv at Kumbh Mela at Sangam in Prayagraj is going on peacefully.

    More than two crore devotees are expected to take the holy dip. A large number of foreigners are also witnessing the grand ceremony.

    People are taking holy dip at Sangam and nearby areas since early morning.

    The scene at Sangam is amazing and divine due to the yellow cloths worn by the devotees on the occasion of Basant Panchami.

    The Mela area is spread over 32 hundred hectares seems a Mini India where people from all parts of nation have flocked in.

    As far as security arrangements are concern, the whole region has been demarcated into nine zones and 20 sectors with the deployment of over 20,000 police personnel, 6,000 home guards and around 100 companies of central and other forces.

    With a view to counter any terrorist activity, Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) commandos, anti-sabotage commandos with snipers, bomb disposal units, dog squads and intelligence units have also been pressed into service.
