    Published on April 25, 2022

ISKCON Bangalore organised the grand festivities of Brahma Rathotsava, the anniversary to mark the appearance of the deities at the Hare Krishna Hill temple, Rajaji Nagar. On this occasion, Nritya seva was performed by Kuchipudi Art Academy, where eight dancers presented the Gopika Krishna theme. Brahma Rathotsava is celebrated as a part of  Sri Brahmotsava, the temple’s annual festival.

The deities were taken around the temple premises on a Brahma Ratha (a traditionally crafted wooden chariot) glowing with a bright luminescence and flowers amidst kirtans. After the procession, the deities were brought to the temple’s Open Air theatre for Dolotsava and Jhulan seva. A grand feast spread consisting of over 108 delicacies was also offered to the deities to celebrate their divine appearance.

The deities were offered a Churna Abhisheka (an elaborate ceremonial bath) on the next day of the Brahma Rathotsava. Every evening, the Utsava deities of Sri Radha Krishnachandra were adorned in unique alankaras and carried in a procession on Vahanas (carriers).

Brahmotsava is an important festival at ISKCON Bangalore, attracting thousands of devotees and visitors from all over Karnataka. Spiritual leaders, distinguished guests and people from across the country take part in this 12-day cultural extravaganza.
