Chennai: Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao has inviteed ruling AIADMK’s new Legislature Party Leader Edappadi K Palaniswami to form government in the State. He has been asked to seek vote of confidence within 15 days.
This follows, Edappadi K. Palaniswamy meeting Governor at Raj Bhavan this morning. Following conviction of Ms VK Sasikala in the Disproportionate Assets case, Mr Palaniswamy was elected in her place on Tuesday at Kuvathur resort where the party MLAs are staying.
Immediately he rushed to Raj Bhavan and staked his claim to form new government in the state amidst volatile political situation. He met Governor last evening also to insist his case. O.Panneerselvam camp is reportedly in a huddle at the official residence of the acting chief minister.
