  • Tourism Malaysia promotes “Malaysia My Second Home” programme aggressively

    Chennai : Malaysia My Second Home Programme is promoted by the Government of Malaysia to allow foreigners who fulfill certain criteria, to stay in Malaysia for as long as possible on a multiple-entry social visit pass.

    So far some 12,000 people have been approved and it is generating a lot of interest. The programme is primarily attracting people who wish to retire in Malaysia or spend extended periods here.

    It is open to citizens of all countries recognised by Malaysia regardless of race, religion, gender or age. Applicants are allowed to bring their spouses and unmarried children below the age of 21 as dependants.

    The reasons people informed is that they enjoy living in Malaysia which includes the low cost of living, developed infrastructure, friendly Malaysians, attractive tourist destinations and general quality of life. For those with children there are some excellent international schools..

    This programme is initiated, organised and launched by the Malaysian Government and is thus one that the Government will continuously seek to improve, to ensure its success.

    The country has everything for the family,-theme parks, jungle trails, sports, water sports and one of the highest numbers of golf courses.

    1.            Malaysia is an attractive destination as a second home for the following reasons:

    a.      The MM2H is initiated, organised and supported by the Malaysian Government.

    b.      Malaysia has one of the highest standards of living in the region with modern infrastructure and facilities. Excellent infrastructure and transportation systems connect the country.

    c.       The cost of living in Malaysia is one of the lowest in Asia. The Government’s efficient management of the economy ensures that inflation is kept low.

    d.      Malaysia is politically stable ruled by a Government representing all the races, religions and cultures found in Malaysia.

    e.      Malaysia has one of the best developed and quality educational systems – both public and private – from nurseries right up to colleges and universities.
