  • In Tripura, the flood situation continues to be grim. All districts of state are affected due to flood. The state emergency operation centre officials told  that more than 6600 families have taken shelter in 189 relief camps. The administration is taking all measures to rescue the affected people.

    Talking to AIR, the DM & Collector of Unakoti district Mr. D. Darlong said, more than 21000 people are taking shelter in 90 relief camps in Kailashahar and Kumarghat subdivisions.

    He said that today three NDRF teams have rescued 1600 people. The water level of rivers Manu and Deo has receded but still they are flowing at danger level.

    Agriculture Department officials told AIR that the crops of Corn, Jute, Aush Paddy and summer vegetables have been damaged due to flood.

    Today, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb discussed the flood situation with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh over telephone and requested the Centre for immediate assistance from Army for rescue and evacuation operation.
