    Two city travel professionals made big globally in Tourism industry

    Hyderabad:  Two Hyderabad travel professionals made big globally in Tourism industry.

    Narayan Subramanian Mohan of Hyderabad based Kennedy Holidays is appointed as SKAL Ambassador of the Year.  He is the first Asian and Indian to have been bestowed with such an honour in recognition to his services to the global tourism trade in general and SKAL in particular.

    NSN Mohan only one chosen from 15000 members of SKAL across the world. It is a proud moment for India and Telugu states.  He is currently SKAL Asia Director PR and Marketing.

    Another travel professional and former Ranji Cricket Player, Vijay Mohan Raj elected as SKAL Intl Director.  Vijay Mohan Raj is the 3rd Indian to be elected as the SKAL International Director. He is one of the three International Directors chosen for this year.  The other two International Directors elected were from Australia and Canada.  Vijay served earlier as President of SKAL Hyderabad and Chairman SKAL World Congress held in Hyderabad.

    Both these appointments took place at just concluded 79th SKAL World Congress held at Mumbasa in Kenya.

    In a SKAL Local Chapter meeting held on Thursday night in the city, these two professionals were felicitated by their colleagues.

    SKAL is the world’s largest Travel organisation of Travel and Tourism Professionals founded in 1934. And it is the only international group uniting all sectors of the travel and tourism. SKAL World Congress is the four day, annual conference held in different locations across the world.  Nearly 1000 delegates participate in this annual event from nearly 100 from across the globe.

    The 78th SKAL World Congress held in Hyderabad in the last October.

    It is a global recognition for Telugu Tours and Travel Industry.  With our appointments as well as hosting last year’s SKAL World Congress in Hyderabad, we could place Telugu Tourism on Global Tourism Map is how both Vijay Mohan Raj and NSN Mohan responded on their appointments.

    SKAL is the biggest and oldest Travel body in the world.  May aim is to bring this travel congress to India, once in every five years and make Indian and Telangana and Andhra Tourism attractions know all over the world added Mohan, who is the most travelled Tourism professional He travelled 150 times abroad and visited nearly 75 countries.

    My responsibilities as Intl Director Membership Growth and Trade Events. Currently we have 2500 members in Asia and I would like to take this number to 5000 in next one year.  Besides that I would like to host a International Symposium or Panel Discussion on “Role of Tourism in World Peace” by bringing some of the most respected individuals as the panelists, informed Vijay. To mark and celebrate the same, we will run a campaign, “World in One Photo”, by bringing one individual from each country for unique gathering, so that whole world will on one single platform, he shared.

    SKAL globally has 15000 members spread in 400 clubs in 90 countries.  In India it has 9 Chapters and 1000 members.  Delhi is the world’s biggest local chapter of SKAL Intl, which has 250 members.  The members are drawn from Travel, Tourism and Hospitality.

    SKAL Hyderabad will work with government to increase arrival of foreign tourists from current 2.5 lakh per annum to 10 lakh by the year 2020

    The modern traveler looks for a fuller experience of the place they visit.  And we have many such attractions in Telugu States. And we will make whole world discover them, Vijay informed.
