Haflong  : To prevent the spreading of Covid 19, a two week lockdown began from today morning.

This time police found to be more cautious to implement the protocol of Covid 19.

They were imposing fine for not using face mask and social distances.

People found collecting essentials in the market making long queue since very limited shops in the market were open.

As per the guidelines grocery shops have been allowed to operate from 11 AM to 4 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with requisite 30% shops open on these days but at Lower Haflong all the shops were closed as the police prevented to open their shops causing utter inconvenience to the people since Lower Haflong is located at least 4 km from Haflong town.

Meanwhile in the interest of public service the authority of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council opined for functioning of the NCHAC office with minimum staff of Finance, Accounts Cell, Transferred Cell and Registrar (T) office of the NCHAC during the lockdown period in Dima Hasao District from 6th to 19th July, 2020.

All the offices under the administrative control of the NCHAC will also function with minimum officers and staff.

Therefore, concerned officers are hereby asked to attend office and maintain Roaster duty for
minimum of staff as required attending office during the aforesaid period. But most of the offices were found either closed or empty.
