LYRA SWIM has recently launched its new earth-inspired swimwear collection that features a timeless palette channelling and celebrating the vibrancy of the great outdoors. The new earthy-toned range offers their best-selling Sofia design in 5 new exciting shades like Maroon, Blue, Khaki, Pink and Slate. Looking at the struggles women faced when choosing the right swimwear, the brand was created which aims at making the wearer comfortable.

The idea of creating LYRA germinated in the mind of its founder Ikram Zein when she found herself struggling with choosing the right swimwear for herself which would make her feel comfortable and suit her lifestyle. She was amongst those women who loved outdoor activities like swimming to keep herself fit, but when it came to wearing swimwear, she was blanked out as none of the pieces available in the market suited her taste as she wanted something modest which would not make her feel awkward. What followed was her stepping into the design zone and creating her own swimwear which went on to become one of the most popular brands LYRA.

She recollects how when going for a swim she would grab an old oversized t-shirt to be worn over her swimsuit, just to cover up a bit. Many a times even after taking a dip in the pool she would not part with her overclothe, which was embarrassing for her. The reason was she was like many women out there not confident of her appearance in a two piece suit and that made her seriously think on creating a design which would shove out women’s woes through the window.

Ikram launched LYRA Swimwear in 2016, which comprised of a collection she had always desired, modest and suiting her style, which also reflected her personal beliefs and philosophy. She designed her modest swimwear collection after many brainstorming sessions with women belonging to different faiths, who were eagerly waiting for such a revolutionary product with a more modest approach to swimwear.
