Uncertainty surrounds over functioning of KGBV at Dhula under Darrang district of Assam

Mangaldai  : Uncertainty has been prevailing in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalya at Dhula in Darrang district for the last four days on Friday as all the fifty four no of  students of the residential girls secondary level school  under the Ministry of HRD , Govt of India  have not yet returned to their institution after they left for home on Monday in panic following an incident of unauthorized entry of few unidentified miscreants into the school campus and damage of property on the previous night . The warden of the school Dipanjali Saharia has already lodged a complaint  in the Dhula Police Station and on the basis of this complaint the police has registered a case and has started investigation , said Hemanta Baruah , Officer in Charge of Dhula Police Station on Friday while talking to APN News . Additional Deputy Commissioner in charge of Sarba Siksha Abhiyan , Darrang Kalpana Deka  has reportedly  visited the school on Friday  to take stock of the situation but the measures taken by the administration  to bring back normalcy to the school is yet to be known as ADC Deka couldn’t be contacted for her comment .

 

Surprisingly the District Programme Officer , SSA , Darrang, Gobinda Saikia who is reportedly responsible for looking after the institution stated to have over looked the seriousness of the incident by not  informing about the incident immediately to the administration .  Meanwhile a section of parents demanded assurance of safety and security of their wards before their return to the institution .

 

It has been reported by the school authority that a group of unidentified miscreants with their face being covered jumped into the fencing less half boundary wall of the school and terrorized the teenage girl inmates while trying to enter into the main boarding hall by breaking the  weak doors . However the inmates and the warden reportedly raised a hue and cry compelling the miscreants to flee before police could arrive after warden informed police over phone . Just after the exit of the police team , the group of miscreants returned again to throw stones and pass words of threatening to the inmates . According to police this is not the first such incident when unidentified miscreants tried to create panic among the inmates by entering into the campus of the school and the school authority may avail the services of the jawans of the CRPF camp just one hundred meter away from it .
