Pune: UNIKEN, a leading technology innovation company and the Government of Gujarat signed a MOU at the recently concluded ‘Vibrant Gujarat 2011’ – 5th Global Summit, held on 12th and 13th January, 2011 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar.

The focus of this particular Vibrant Gujarat event was to broaden its scope from being an investment event to a platform where knowledge sharing and development merge. In keeping with this objective, companies such as UNIKEN, who are at the forefront of innovation, technology and enabling inclusive growth across the country with the implementation of their cutting-edge technologies, were invited to be a part of this landmark event.

Mr. Sanjay Deshpande, Chief Innovation Officer and CEO of UNIKEN, said that “We had set up our first Innovation Centre in Pune in 2003. Over the past few years, we have developed some breakthrough technologies in this center and are now ready to expand our footprint across the country. The state of Gujarat has made significant progress and is clearly poised to become one of the key global business hubs of India. Further, given our partnership with Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (an IIM-A initiative), it was imperative for us to be partners in this growth story and launch our next Innovation Centre in the city of Ahmedabad – which has been reputed for fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship, which is core to UNIKEN’s values and culture.”

“The MOU aims to set-up a Technology and Business Innovation Centre in Ahmedabad. The Government of Gujarat has extended its full support and has shown its interest in partly funding the infrastructure. The objective is to harness the best of local talent – innovators and entrepreneurs, researchers, scientists, and come out with more cutting-edge, revolutionary technologies that impact businesses across the globe”, added Mr. Vivek Saxena, Chief Delivery Officer, UNIKEN.
