  • University of Exeter achieves significant milestone; gets its subjects featured in the world’s top 100

    Highly regarded in India for its management courses, the University of Exeter, the UK’s leading research-oriented organization, now has its courses in Humanities and Social Sciences positioned among the top 100 of Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2021, also known as the Shanghai Ranking. As per its latest edition, eleven subjects feature among the world’s top 100, with Geography (7th placed) leading the line-up. Besides its subjects making noise in the international educational market, the University of Exeter has positioned itself in the global top 150 of the esteemed QS World University Rankings 2022. Scoring 149th position, the university rose from 15 places compared to the preceding year. More than 1300 universities were a part of this survey and were judged on six indicators.

    Other subjects including Ecology (11th), Public Administration (17th), and Atmospheric Science (44th) emerge in the top 50, while Earth Sciences, Mining and Mineral Engineering, Environmental Science and Engineering, Political Sciences and Sociology are ranked between 51 and 75. Meanwhile, Remote Sensing and Water Resources only manage to position themselves between the range of 76 and 100. Out of the total 54 subjects listed in the edition, the university gains a leading position in 33, with 18 additional subjects ranked in the top 200.

    More than 4000 universities were a part of this survey and were divided into five fields- medical sciences, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, and life sciences. The results were declared by computing the quality, quantity, influence, and impact of research driven in the hearts and minds of the institutions along with their focus on international collaboration and employing several staff members felicitated with awards.

    Having employed industry experts who give students a theoretical and practical landscape of the outside world, the university has bagged numerous accreditations, most notably from the Association of MBAs, Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, and EFMD Quality Improvement System.
