Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the Chief Secretary Rajeev Kumar to probe into the matter of alleged corruption charges levelled against his Principle Secretary SP Goel by a businessman.

Our Lucknow correspondent reports that, a resident of Lucknow Abhishek Gupta alleged that Mr Goel demanded bribe of 25 lakh rupees from him to resolve the issues related to setting up of a petrol pump in Hardoi district. Mr Gupta complained against the principal secretary to Governor Ram Naik who wrote to the Chief Minister for necessary action.

Meanwhile, Lucknow police has lodged an FIR against Mr Gupta on the complaint of an office bearer of BJP’s UP unit. He has been detained for interrogation.
