The Uttar Pradesh government, in collaboration with Saamarthya Teachers Training Academy of Research (STTAR), Ghaziabad, is set to launch a programme to train 10,000 teachers of government schools in the state.

The programme is a part of the UP government’s five-point plan to promote quality education and improve learning outcomes. It will be officially launched in Lucknow by the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Dinesh Sharma, on 8th October, 2021, in the presence of Gulab Devi, Minister of State, Secondary Education, and Shishir Jaipuria, Chairman of Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions.

The UP government’s five-point plan includes:

    • Training 10,000 teachers in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in collaboration with STTAR
    • Career counselling and guidance in 2500 government secondary schools
    • Study tables for 1000 underprivileged girl students
    • Tablets for meritorious girl students
    • Establishing smart classes in 30 secondary schools

STTAR is an initiative of Jaipuria School of Business, which is a leading B-school under the umbrella of Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions. The ICT training programme for UP teachers is a part of the group’s corporate social responsibility. The training will be conducted by the expert trainers of STTAR.

Shishir Jaipuria, Chairman of Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions, says the ICT training programme will help to empower teachers in government schools to leverage technology for better learning outcomes in classrooms.

The ICT training programme for teachers is likely to yield positive results, given the expertise of STTAR in conducting online teacher training. Founded in 2020, the academy has till date conducted 10,000 training hours in over 60 sessions to benefit 150 schools. All its training sessions for UP teachers will be conducted in the virtual mode. The programme is in line with the vision of the UP government to strengthen its education system by making it digitally competent.
