The international community continues to condemn the Sunday’s terror attack in Uri which killed 18 Army personnel. Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and many other countries have extended their support to India in its fight against terrorism.

German Ambassador to India Martin Ney said, every country is responsible for taking decisive action against terrorism emanating from its territory.

Expressing its solidarity with India in the fight against terrorism, Japanese Foreign Ministry said, no act of terrorism can be justified.

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, her country will continue to work with India to eradicate the menace.

Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani called up Mr Modi yesterday and condemned the attack. Mr Sirisena and Mr Modi spoke of the need for sustained cooperation among countries of the region to end the scourge of terrorism. Mr Ghani extended Afghanistan’s solidarity and support to India to eliminate the menace.

Mr Modi thanked the Afghan President for his support. Several nations including US, UK, Russia, France, Canada and Afghanistan have already condemned the attack.

Meanwhile,Union Cabinet will meet in New Delhi today. Although, the meeting of Cabinet on Wednesday is routine one, but it is significant in the backdrop of Uri terror attack in which 18 Army jawans were martyred. The Cabinet Committee on Security is also expected to hold meeting to review the situation arising out of the attack.
