The United States and China will resume top-level talks in Washington on Friday to see if they can find a way forward on disputes from trade to military friction.
During the meeting, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis will discuss major issues with two high-ranking Chinese policymakers.
However, the trade will get high priority as it is at the heart of tensions between the two countries.
US President Donald Trump has slapped $250 billion worth of tariffs on Chinese goods, accusing Beijing of nefarious trading practices, prompting retaliatory measures.
