US Ambassador to India, Ken Juster has said that Washington is committed towards enhancing bilateral relationship with New Delhi.

Speaking at his farewell event in New Delhi today, he said, US has been making concerted efforts to support India’s rise on the world stage.

Mr. Juster said that the US National Security Strategy welcomed India’s emergence as a leading power and a stronger strategic and defence partner way back in 2017 itself.

The outgoing US Ambassador asserted that the region needs stability, leadership and a democratic model for development that does not threaten the sovereignty of other countries.

Mr Juster added that a strong and democratic India is an important partner to promote peace and prosperity in the region.

He said that the Indo-Pacific region is particularly significant for the US-India relationship as it recognises the reality that India and Indian ocean are inextricably tied to East Asia and the Pacific.
