Mumbai: Vaswati Das from Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School battled it out with students from schools to be crowned as the winner of the Guwahati round of the much talked about ‘HDFC Life Spelling Bee – India Spells 2011,’ the Indian counterpart of the highly acclaimed Scripps National Spelling Bee, USA. . Vaswati Das will now participate in the “Grand Finale” of the famed competition to be in held in Mumbai.

The Guwahati city final was held today at Shilpgram Auditorium, Guwahati; Vaswati Das battled it out at the final city round, Vaswati Das received a certificate along with a gift hamper from HDFC Life.

Speaking about HDFC Life Spell Bee Mr. Prashant Panday – Chief Executive Officer of ABSIL said, “The efforts put in by our team have helped us in achieving a very high level of entries for the competition. This clearly indicates, the strong interest generated in the minds of the students and parents for such an initiative.
