  • Vehicles seized and fined during Dima Hasao lockdown

    Haflong : As many as 13 vehicles including two wheelers were seized by the Dima Hasao Police on the first day of the two weeks lockdown, releasing a total fine of Rs. 12,500 on a single day.

    This came into force after an order was issued by the Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman of DDMA, Dima Hasao, Paul Barua, clearly stating the guidelines of activities exempted and prohibited during the lockdown till 19th July next. According to the order all public and private vehicles are prohibited from plying on road unless approved by the district administration on emergencies.

    In this connection, the district administration also released a list with names of grocery shops at Haflong town that will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the two weeks lockdown. The authority is also preparing inclusion of more number of shops from suburban locality for convenience of the people and to avoid gathering at the market. Same is also being worked out for the various other places within the district.
