Mumbai: Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed by IDBI Bank Ltd. from October 26 to 31, 2015. The theme of this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week is “Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance”.  The Vigilance Awareness Week commenced with the administration of Pledge by Shri B.K. Batra, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank to its staff members on October 26, 2015, at its Corporate Office in Mumbai. On this occasion, Shri Batra read out the message of Hon’ble President of India. The messages of Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the Central Vigilance Commission, were read by Shri R.K. Bansal, Executive Director, Shri Viney Kumar, Executive Director, and Shri Suneet Kumar Mathur, Executive Director- CVO, respectively. Shri Batra, DMD while addressing the staff members, sensitized them on the need to be ever vigilant for being an important part of the banking industry. They assume great responsibility as public servants and as trustees of public money. He also encouraged all the staff members to participate wholeheartedly in the various activities, being conducted by the Bank’s Vigilance Department throughout the Week.

On this occasion, Shri Batra also released a Special Journal brought out by the Bank’s Vigilance Department. The Journal contains articles on the theme of this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week and other useful material, for perusal of IDBI staff.

During the Vigilance Awareness Week, talks by eminent Guest Speakers are being organized. Also, various competitions on the theme related topics are being arranged, not only among the staff members, but also for participation of students of schools, colleges and educational institutions for spreading awareness among the country’s youth.
