Mumbai : The inimitable Vir Das and his Alien Chutney are back with a bang, releasing the music video for their brand new song titled ‘Happy People’ on YouTube today. The song is part of their new album ‘BOM in LIVE BAY’, which is amongst the country’s first ever comedy rock albums to be commercially released.

Adding further zing to the launch is the declaration by the talented actor, who has been working round the clock juggling his significant stand-up tours, his film shoot especially the ongoing Mastizaade with being in the studio working on this new album, that the third day of every month will be recognized as “Chutney 3.0 Marathon” for next the 12 months. On this day he will release a new music video along with Alien Chutney’s original comedy rock song every month giving us 12 songs this year.

Commenting on Chutney 3.0 first video release, Vir Das said, “We are working with some of the top directors in the music video business to develop a high concept video every single month and build loyalty amongst fans. Each video will feature new music collaborations and also some cool celebrity friends. The idea is that at the end of the year you now own the Alien Chutney album and have a relationship with it because you had to wait for it and in many ways partake in its journey.”

Vir Das’s band Alien Chutney features original music by Kaizad Gheda, Sidd Coutoo, Johan Pais and of course Vir Das himself.
