    Agartala (Hindusthan Samachar): Policies are our priority not any political alliance or Front to fight the electoral battle,yachuri said CPI (M) politburo member Sitaram Yechury. He was speaking to reporters here after apex policy making body meeting of the party.  According to the senior CPM leader party in its Politburo today deliberated in depth on redesigning its policies to benefit the people of the country at large.

    Briefing the scribes on the party’s politburo meeting held today here Mr. Yechury said “the party as of now is little concerned on forging any alliance or forming any alternative. Our considered view is the party needs to stress more on a political policy that could be appealing to all. Party has been emphasizing on this subject more than the issue of formation of any alternative Front.”

    Yechury, on a specific question said that the party in its conclave today discussed aloud the outcome of the just concluded Assembly elections in five states in which CPI (M) did poorly, compared to earlier elections. On the upcoming general elections he said there was no serious thought within the party on any political alliance of forming any Front. “There is enough time ahead think on such issues. Now the party’s priority is to formulate an effective political alternative policy”.

    He farther said that CPI (M) little concerned on “the prime ministerial candidate. Party wants to come up with alternative political policy before the people of the country, which is different from the policies of Congress and the BJP.”

    CPIM politburo meeting started hear at 10.30 AM in the Tripura state committee office and continued up to 1.30PM. Later on CPIM politburo members reached in the residence of Chief Minister for lunch. The three-day central committee meeting started at 3.30 PM and is likely to continue tomorrow.
