  • Woman Agri Entrepreneurs Greeted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra on Women’s Day in Assam’s Darrang District

    Mangaldai :: District Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK ), in Assam’s Darrang district on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8 has greeted five promising women agri entrepreneurs of the district. In this connection a public function was held at village Saikiapara near here today where Dr Abdul Hafiz,  Head of KVK ,Darrang,  senior agri scientist Dr Manoj Kumar Chouhan , senior journalists Bhargab Kumar Das and Mayukh Goswami respectively greeted agri entrepreneurs Geetanjali Devi,  Debojani Saharia,  Anima Deka,  Tachida Khatun and Jesminara Begum each with a gamosa,  a citation and a gift .

    This was followed by a training session for the local women where Guwahati based young promising entrepreneur Subhalaksmi Kataki as the resource person  gave them some tips on how to earn from home made quality bakery items with minimum technical know how and investment and become economically self sufficient. Earlier Head of KVK, Dr Hafiz explained on this year’s theme of the ‘Day’ – ‘Choose to challenge. Challenged world is an alert world and challenge comes change.’  Similarly Bhargab Kumar Das spoke on the potentiality of the women of our rural Assam. Presentation of chorus by students of Assam Agricultural University and members of a local woman SHG also marked the occasion.
