  • Women from corporate invited to Participate Tech Mahindra and Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy’s joint initiative

    Hyderabad :  Tech Mahindra Ltd and Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy join hands for an initiative to promote Badminton game and badmintonwellness among corporate.  The three day national event to be held from September 6 to 8 at Gopichand Badminton Academy(PGBA) at Gachibowli will see 350 plus players competing Men’ s and Women’s Singles and Doubles Championships. The winners will take home attractive cash prizes and gifts along with the coveted Pullela Gopichand Trophy.  The Corporate Badminton League™ (CBL) 2013 is the first inter-corporate Badminton Tournament in India and is open to all non-seeded individuals working in corporates.

    The response is overwhelming. More than 300 corporate executives have already registered their participation from organizations such as TCS, Qualcom, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Wipro, IBM, HSBC, Delitte etc and many. We urge more corporate women to come forward and participate in the event.  We will reach 400 by the end of the month, informed Ravi of Sikhara Events, who is organizing the event.  “Keep fit’ is the new manthra for many corporate executives.  Awareness about fitness is more now than ever before. Keeping in view of this trend we are organizing the Badminton League for corporate, he informed.

    Badminton in India holds a vital position as one of the fast emerging popular sport and Padma Shri Pullela Gopichand being one of the celebrated stars of the game, brings forth this initiative under the aegis of his Academy at Hyderabad that has been the breeding ground of various international badminton turnouts.

    “Corporates endorsing Badminton as one of the mandatory sports is a great sign for the sport. This would enable greater penetration and generate support for the sport as well, inspiring a lot of youngsters. I would like to thank Tech Mahindra for this initiative to support Badminton.” says Padma Shri Pullela Gopichand.
