Mangaldai : Few years back, a group of socially active housewives and working women had formed a Group “Not Just Food (NJF)” for food lovers and creative souls, where one can share her delicious dishes in the popular social media ‘Face book’. However this group was not confined only in food related matters, but also to provide a platform to display the inner qualities of all the members in different fields.
At present the NJF have more than 15000 members. Besides dedicating their time for the inmates of the ‘Old Age Home’, collecting and distributing relief materials for the flood effected people of the state; the NJF on Sunday
Amrita Sarma of NJF who took the initiative for organizing the medical and health camp offered a ‘Mekhela Chador’ to the first enrolled lady patient. The organizers also offered nutrious food supplements and drinking water to the patients and their accompanying children at free of cost.
Earlier all the attending doctors and members of NJF undertook a plantation drive in the school campus. Priyakshi Das President and Anuradha Kalita Secretary of NJF while talking to the media persons reiterated their commitment towards the society and said that in the coming days some more noteworthy initiative would be carried out by the NJF. Member of NJF Farida Ahmed, Rumina Wahid, Urmi Bharali, Luki Talukdar Saikia, Monalisa Patowari, Priyanka Sarma, Subhalakhsmi Kataki, Snigdha Jyoti Choudhury Barman, Puspita Hazarika Deka and senior most member Asna Doulah also extended all cooperation towards the smooth conduct of the camp.
