Jorhat : Along with the rest of the world in Jorhat too the World Bicycle Day was celebrated at the Jorhat Stadium Complex with great manner organized by the district administration and Jorhat Cycling Committee which was sponsored by ONGC , Cinnamora, Jorhat where a total of 7 Octogenarian cyclist from the field of Health Conscious Forum were felicitated for the immense contribution in the field of cycling which has become an important means to maintain health as well as related programme, said Dr. AK Saikia, the joint director Health who attended as a special invite on the occasion.

Earlier Tapan Gohain, additional deputy commissioner, Jorhat flag off the rally which was participated by cyclists from various organizations, schools and colleges which was over to 300 plus participants in the 18 Km long distance bicycle rally that was kicked off from Jorhat Stadium, Gar Ali via Cinnamora, Lichubari, AAU and Jail Road to reached the stadium complex which was the starting point.

Moreover participants took part in the warm up aerobics that continued over 2 hours which thrilled one to one in the first ever World Bicycling Day observed in Jorhat, said Tapan Gohain additional deputy commissioner here today.

A total of all section of the people from the field of aerobics, cycling and jogging community from the age group of 10 to 85 were in the 18 Km cycling spree which was found to be a big change among upcoming generation and all , should be appreciated , said Rintu Goswami, one of the organizer from the Cycling Community here.
