
Kochi: In the run-up to the fourth edition of the Federal Bank Kochi Marathon, a vibrant promo run was held in the city on Sunday, drawing enthusiastic participation from the running community and energising Kochi’s fitness landscape.
The promo run commenced at 6:00 am from Rajendra Maidan and was flagged off by Josemon P. David, Regional Head and Vice President, Federal Bank; Olympian Anand Menezes, Race Director, Federal Bank Kochi Marathon; Anish Paul, Director, CleoSportz and Krishnaprasad, President, Orange Runners Club.
Organised in collaboration with the Orange Runners Club, the event saw participation from several prominent running clubs across Kerala, including Cherai Runners Club, Fort Kochi Runners, Maradu Runners Club, Panampilly Nagar Runners, Queen’s Way Runners, Royal Runners Chottanikkara, Soles of Cochin and Stadium Runners.
The 10-kilometre route started from Rajendra Maidan and passed through Foreshore Road, Diwans Road, TDM Junction, Gandhi Circle, Subhash Park, High Court Junction, and Queen’s Way, before culminating at Rajendra Maidan.
The Federal Bank Kochi Marathon, themed ‘Move with Purpose’, will be held in Kochi on February 8. Affiliated under the aegis of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), it is the only marathon in Kerala to carry this distinction.
