6.5 magnitude quake hits New Zealand

A 6.5 magnitude earthquake rocked New Zealand’s North Island today. The quake, occurred at 3:36 p.m. local time, was centered 30 kilometres west of Taupo. New Zealand Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences said it was at a depth of 150 kilometers and was widely felt in Wellington and nearly areas. However, there were no immediate report of damage.
