In north-east India, uproar resumes, strong protest against CAA

Guwahati : Protests have resumed across the north-eastern state today on the North Alumni Organisation’s call against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Farmers are agitating against the controversial farmers ‘ law all over the country.

The central government is getting very upset about it. At the same time, there have been major violent protests in the North-Eastern State since the period against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Today, students, youth, advocates, artists and the general public have protested against the call of the North Alumni Organization in all the North-Eastern States. Yesterday, chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal was shown a black flag by the protestors opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act. In addition, protestors in protest are showing black flags to the BJP worker everywhere.

In the north-eastern states, protests have once again begun against the controversial citizenship law. Several student organizations in the north-east (NESO) protested against the law at several places with a black flag. Also demanded the release of KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi. Who were taken into custody during protests last year. Protests were held by all Manipur Students Union, Garo Students Union and all Arunachal Pradesh Students Union including North East Students Organisation (NESO), Khasi Students Union (KSU), All Assam Students Union (AASU), Naga Students Federation (NSF), Mizo Jharlai Paval (MZP), Twipra Students Federation. In addition, several organizations including Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, All Assam Student Union (AASU), Assam Ethnicistic Youth Students Council, Lahad Sena took up rallies in Assam.

The protest started from Sivasagar from where it was started last year. The protesters said the CAA is against the identity, language and cultural heritage of the natives of the state. He demanded withdrawal of the law. The chief advisor of Aasu, Samuzzal Bhattacharya, told reporters that the organization had displayed black flags at its office here and black flags were displayed in seven north-eastern states under the aegis of ‘ North East Student Organisation ‘ in protest against the CAA. A statement issued by Aasu chairman Dipank Kumar Nath and general secretary Shankar Jyoti Barua said, “The government will have to withdraw this anti-Assam law. Because of this, five Assamese citizens lost their lives, including innocent students. The kin of the departed people and the Aasu will continue to demand justice. Not only that, 18 organizations in Assam started fresh demonstrations on Friday in protest against the revised Citizenship Act (CAA). In the meantime, these organisations demanded the release of KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi who was taken into custody during protests last year. Several organizations including the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, All Assam Student Union (AASU), Assam Ethnicistic Youth Students ‘ Council, Lahad Sena took up rallies across the state. The protestors have raised slogans that we will die, but we will not allow the CAA to be used. He has given the slogan “Prime Minister Narendra Modi Hi Hi”, BJP government Hi Hi, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Hi Hi, etc.
