Born into the Pathare Prabhu community, Chef Bimba Nayak grew up immersed in the rich culinary traditions of her heritage. From the early 1970s, she began sharing these flavors through localized cooking classes and expanded her skills through global travel. In 2006, she founded Cooking Concepts, a brand that has become synonymous with Pathare Prabhu cuisine. Chef Bimba continues to delight food enthusiasts, both within and outside the community, with her exceptional culinary creations. The Pathare Prabhus, a 700-year-old community, are among the original inhabitants of Mumbai, known for their cultural and historical contributions to the city. They trace their origins to Gujarat, and their dialect, Parabhi, reflects this connection with a blend of Gujarati and Kathiawari words. The community has a rich culinary heritage, celebrated for its distinct flavors and traditional recipes.
