A major food manufacturer is setting down roots in North Texas with a multi-million dollar investment in Garland. Patriot Pickle, a New Jersey-based pickle manufacturer, is expanding its operations with a new 69,000-square-foot distribution facility at the International Business Center.
Construction on the $4.2 million project is scheduled to begin this month at the South International Road location, with doors expected to open by August 1, according to state filings. The facility will be housed in a property owned by Lincoln Property Company of Dallas.
The expansion comes on the heels of the company’s recent acquisition by H.I.G. Capital, a Miami-based investment firm. The deal, announced in January, positions Patriot Pickle for significant growth in the Southwest market.
“We are pleased to partner with Bill, Adam, and the Patriot management team and look forward to supporting the Company in its organic and acquisition-driven growth initiatives,” said Justin Reyna, managing director at H.I.G. Capital, suggesting more development could be on the horizon for the region.
Patriot Pickle, which has been operating since 2004, manufactures a wide range of pickle products, from traditional kosher dills to sweet horseradish chips. The company’s product line includes several varieties of pickles, as well as pickled green tomatoes and sauerkraut, which are distributed to restaurants, delis, and supermarkets across the country.
The Garland facility represents a significant expansion of Patriot’s operations beyond its Northeast base. The company currently operates state-of-the-art facilities totaling 185,000 square feet, with the new Texas location set to increase their distribution capabilities in the growing Southwest market.
For local customers seeking specialty products, Patriot offers several popular brands including PickleAde, KZ Brand, Natural Harvest, and Regal Crown. The company also provides private labeling services for businesses looking to develop their own branded pickle products.
The expansion into Garland adds to the growing list of food manufacturers choosing North Texas for their operations, highlighting the region’s strategic importance as a distribution hub for the food service industry.
