Kolkata : The Heritage College successfully inaugurated its new Psychology Laboratory, marking a significant step forward in strengthening experiential learning, behavioural sciences research, and mental health education on campus.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prof. Basab Chaudhuri, Director, Prof. Sandip Pal, Principal, Mr. Santosh Ray, GM and other faculty, students, and invited academicians from the field of psychology. The event highlighted the institution’s commitment to building a future-ready learning environment rooted in scientific inquiry and holistic development.
The newly launched Psychology Lab is equipped with:

✔️ Standardised psychometric assessment tools
✔️ Experiment setups for memory, attention, perception & learning
✔️ Counselling and observation spaces
✔️ Research-support infrastructure for student projects
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sandip Pal, Principal, The Heritage College, emphasised the rising need for structured psychological education, mental wellbeing awareness, and skill-based practical training in today’s student ecosystem.
They reaffirmed that the lab will serve as a hub for research, workshops, field studies, internships, and interdisciplinary collaborations, enabling students to explore psychology beyond the classroom.
The event concluded with a guided tour of the facility, interactive demos, and discussions on upcoming projects and student research opportunities.
