Masai has entered into academic collaborations with the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, to introduce two new certification programs focused on Generative AI, data-driven decision making, and machine learning. The partnerships expand Masai’s higher-education portfolio amid rising global demand for advanced AI and data talent.
Masai’s collaboration, with MIT IDSS, introduces a six-month certification program titled Machine Learning with Python: From Linear Models to Deep Learning. Masai is the first Indian partner to collaborate with MIT IDSS on this MicroMasters-aligned course, offering learners live Teaching Assistant support from an MIT PhD scholar. The program is intended for aspiring AI and machine learning professionals seeking strong theoretical grounding alongside applied experience.
The coursework covers data handling, model development, optimisation techniques, neural networks, and deep learning, complemented by hands-on projects, simulations, and real-world case studies. Participants graduate with a robust portfolio and a clear understanding of the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, preparing them for technically demanding roles across industries.
The collaboration with Rotman brings a five-month executive program in Data-Driven Decision Making with Generative AI to learners in India. Designed for working professionals and future leaders, the curriculum focuses on applying Generative AI to data preparation, insight generation, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making. Learners are also trained to critically interpret AI-generated outputs and understand the ethical and governance considerations surrounding modern AI systems.
With global estimates projecting Generative AI’s economic impact at nearly USD 2.9 trillion by 2035, and organisations increasingly embedding these tools into core operations, the program aims to equip participants with the judgment and analytical capability required to lead in AI-enabled business environments.
Prateek Shukla, Co-founder and CEO of Masai, said the partnerships reflect the organisation’s commitment to building future-ready talent for India. “AI will define how businesses operate across sectors in the coming decade. Our collaborations with MIT IDSS and Rotman enable Indian learners to access global academic expertise and practical learning experiences that are directly relevant to real-world challenges. These programs are designed to help professionals not only learn AI, but apply it responsibly and effectively.”
Fotini Christia, IDSS Director and MIT Political Science Professor while highlighting the growing demand for professionals who can work confidently with Machine Learning systems added “ML continues to transform industries, and the need for practitioners who understand both the fundamentals and real-world application is stronger than ever,” said Christia. “This collaboration with Masai gives learners an opportunity to build that depth through a structured, hands-on program that reflects the realities of modern AI development.”
Prof. Walid Hejazi, Academic Director of Rotman Executive Programs and the Program Director for this initiative said, “Data-driven decision-making is now a core leadership skill. This partnership brings Rotman’s academic perspective to learners looking to deepen their understanding of Generative AI and its role in strategic thinking. We look forward to supporting participants as they develop informed, ethical, and impactful approaches to decision-making.”
Masai intends for both collaborations to strengthen access to global-quality technical education for Indian learners. The programs will be offered through Masai’s learning platform.
