Kochi: The grand launch and players’ auction of the Entrepreneurs Cricket League (ECL) 2.0, Kerala’s first premier cricket league exclusively for entrepreneurs, was held yesterday at the Kochi Marriott Hotel. The event brought together business leaders and sports enthusiasts on a single platform, marking a unique confluence of enterprise and cricket. At the players’ auction, Robin Rajan, acquired by Kannur Dominators, emerged as the most expensive player.
The event was attended by several eminent personalities, including actress and anchor Veena Nandakumar, cricketer Sachin Baby, the face of ECL, Anto Augustine Managing Director of Reporter Channel, Entrepreneur Anandu, and ECL founders Ansari, Jikson Francis, and Arya Lakshmi.
Organisers stated that the Entrepreneurs Cricket League is a pioneering initiative designed to create a structured sporting platform for entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and business professionals across Kerala. The league aims to foster networking, leadership, team building, and entrepreneurial collaboration through the spirit of cricket, making it the first-of-its-kind premier league for the state’s business community.
A total of 14 teams, representing different regions of Kerala, will compete in ECL 2.0. The participating teams are Black Panthers Kochi, Royal Strikers Trivandrum, Hidumbavanam Thrissur, FN Kollam Royals, Weairassist Alleppey, Aida Kottayam Batlions, Almiya Solar Warriors Malappuram, Idukki Smashers, Kannur Dominators, Kasaragod Storm Breakers, KFL Power Hitters Calicut, Rapid Challengers Palakkad, Pathanamthitta Royal Warriors, and Wayanad Tigers.
