This award is a testament to Dr. Srivastava’s & Dr. Rawal’s tireless efforts, visionary work, groundbreaking advancements in robotic surgery and unwavering commitment to improving patient care on a global scale. Dr. Sudhir Srivastava is a trailblazer in developing indigenous robotic solutions for cardiac and multi-specialty surgery. As the mind behind the first Made-in-India surgical robot, the SSII Mantra, he has championed cost effective, high-precision robotic systems that democratize access to advanced surgical care. In a recent public address, Dr. Srivastava emphasized that robotic surgery is not just a luxury but a necessity for modern healthcare with many patients able to return home in two to three days post operation, thanks to minimally invasive techniques and faster recovery protocols.

Dr. Sudhir Rawal is a veteran urologist and oncologist who has consistently pushed the frontiers of robotic genito-urinary and onco-surgery in India. As Medical Director and Chief of Uro-Oncology at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCIRC), Delhi, he pioneered robotic cancer surgeries, including complex procedures with the SSII Mantra systems. Under his leadership, RGCIRC and associated teams performed many telesurgeries for cancer care- & executed the same remotely using the SSII Mantra surgical robot, significantly expanding access to specialized care even for patients in remote areas.
