Bangalore headquartered Myra Vineyards,is all set to introduce its mid level wines Myrawinesand entry levelbrand, Two-Headed Bird, across the stateof Goa.Unveiling
its category line-up for the first time, Myra foresees gaining a significantfootholdin one of the most lucrative alco-bev markets in Western India.
Founded by ex-bankerAjay Shetty, Myra Vineyards over the past two-years hasrapidly grownits presence across the states of Karnataka and Maharashtra (Mumbai and Pune) whilst receiving several accolades for its premium wine category.Some of these include – Winner of the International Wine Challenge London, followed by Gold medal at the Indian Wine Consumer’s Choice Awards in 2012.Recently, Myra’s Sauvignon Blanc won a bronze at the Indian Consumers Choice Awards (IWCCA), which was held in January 2014.
Elaborating on the brands ambitious plan for Goa, Ajay Shetty, Managing Director, Myra Vineyards said ‘The current boom in the Indian wine producing segment encourages us to be aggressive with our market entry plans. We see Goa as a game changer as it opens up a whole new wine-drinking spectrum for us. Given our product offering caters to both experimental as well as refined tastes, we are confident to put forward a market spinner for Goa.’
Myra as apart of its first phase will be conducting several wine appreciation sessions across hotels, restaurants to familiarize its award-winning wines across different target groups. The brand will be available across leading retail outlets in Goa in the coming months. The company plans to release, 1000 cases of Myra wines and Two-Headed Bird with a 60:40 splitin Goa over the next few months.
