Ft. Lauderdale, FL : With the New Year filled with the promise of hope, and a litany of troubles, Stonewall National Museum, Archives, & Library (SNMAL) in Ft. Lauderdale is kickstarting 2026 in the belief that we must build our future from a position of strength. Today, they welcome Molly Lenore as the new Director of Capital Campaign & Major Donors, where she leads the charge in building a new South Florida home for SNMAL fully equipped to house the millions of stories the Museum is dedicated to sharing.
A key board member of the LGBTQIA Sports Equality Foundation, which includes the LGBTQ+ Sports Hall of Fame, Lenore is a passionate fighter for equality, recognition, and unity. Her work has shined a much-needed spotlight on the discrimination faced by LGBTQ+ athletes, as well as the importance of bringing the community together to make the field a welcoming place for all. She has worked at the Museum of Natural History in New York City and for the last 23 years ran her own New York firm, Moey, Inc. There, she directed award-winning cross-disciplinary teams building and designing immersive, interactive environments for a multitude of organizations and institutions.
Lenore is active in the trans community and has served on the national boards of SAGE, National Gay Flag Football League, and other sports leagues and teams. Her national service will foster connections between SNMAL and a national audience of people who understand the importance of raising the profile of the LGBTQ+ community and celebrating what mainstream institutions often omit.

She understands the importance of Stonewall remaining here in South Florida, ground zero in the fight for equality. Florida needs her vibrant spirit and dedication,” said Stonewall National Museum President and CEO Robert Kesten. While she will continue to be based in New York, her expertise and national reach will be invaluable in building a world class building suited to tell the stories of our community. Creating a home that everyone can be proud to call their own.

The Museum’s upcoming 4th annual “Standing on the Shoulders of Heroes” Gala is slated for Saturday, February 21st, 2026 at The VENUE (Wilton Manors), which will raise funding and community support for the year.
