Embarrassed and upset, he decided to leave the wedding early, feeling ashamed of not being able to speak the language.
Subhash realised that it wasn’t the language itself but the lack of confidence in speaking English that was holding him back. He understood that English had become an important skill for both personal growth and professional success.
Determined to overcome his fear, Subhash sought help from Shri K. K. Mandal, a highly respected teacher. For five years, Subhash worked on his communication skills and personality development. His hard work paid off—he went on to complete his graduation and MBA, both in English, and secured a job at one of India’s top private banks.
However, after seven years in banking, Subhash felt something was missing. He was doing well in his job, but it didn’t bring him happiness. His passion was to help others, and a surprising opportunity soon came his way. One day, a neighbour asked for his advice on her career and also mentioned her struggle with speaking English. Subhash offered to help and gave her a few lessons. After a week of informal coaching, she thanked him by giving him ₹500. This gesture made Subhash realise that he could turn his love for helping people into a new career.
In 2008, Subhash started his English coaching classes, aiming to become the best English communication coach in India. It wasn’t easy. For five years, he managed both his job at the bank and his small coaching business. But in 2014, he made a life-changing decision—he left his banking career to focus entirely on teaching English communication.
By 2018, Subhash had opened five coaching centers in Kolkata under the name IDQ Value Adder Academy, striving to establish it as the best English coaching institute in India. He shared over 500 videos on YouTube, helping thousands of people improve their communication skills. His journey was going smoothly, but then the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020. Like many businesses, Subhash’s IDQ coaching centers were forced to close, leaving him with only one branch. It was a tough time, and he wasn’t sure if online teaching would work.
Encouraged by his mentor, Subhash decided to try online coaching. To his surprise, the shift was successful, and people from all over the world started joining his online classes. By March 2024, Subhash had trained over 300,000 students through his workshops, solidifying his reputation as a Top English communication coach in India.
Throughout his journey, Subhash continued to learn and grow. He expanded his skills into life coaching and personal development. His motto became, “The more we learn, the more we earn,” and it guided him in helping others achieve their goals.
