Hyderabad : ‘Essence of Life’, a unique dance performance with five different dance forms viz.

Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam and Odissi inspired by the teachings of Jiddu
Krishnamurti, renowned spiritual and philosophical thinker is to be performed tomorrow i.e. Saturday, 12th October 2013 as part of the ongoing Hydourite festival.  This is a rare and unusual performance in more than one ways.  It is rare because five different dance forms— Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam and Odissi are combined in one single performance. All girls below thirty years including a Japaness girl Masako Ono from Japan perform solo in the beginning and end with Thillana where all of them perform simultaneously on one stage.

Essence of Life’ brings an experience that is enchanting, life affirming and invigorating all at the same time and features prominent artists from established dance traditions viz. Achuta Manasa (Kathak), Smitha Madhav (Bharatanatyam), Prateeksha Kashi (Kuchipudi), Rashmi Menon (Mohiniattam) and Masako Ono from Japan (Odissi) coming together to communicate deeper philosophical issues in a meaningful manner. Renowned Singers Padmashree Hariharan and Sanjeev Abhyankar have lent their voice to the compositions. While classical dance performances take inspiration mostly from epics & mythologies, Essence of Life shares significant aspects of Jiddu Krishnamurti’s teachings through dance and music.

The performance organised as part of the 2nd edition of Hydourite will be from 7pm at Taj Vivanta, Begumpet, Hyderabad declared Mr. A.V. Ramakrishna, one of the organizers of Hydourite, an initiative celebrating the spirit of Hyderabad with 100 days of celebrations. Hyderabad is set to witness for the second time the revolutionary concept ‘Essence of Life’ to bring about transformation in our lives. The entry to the event is free. ‘Essence of Life’ took birth due to the desire to convey the core of Jiddu Krishnamurti’s teachings through a medium that could bring it alive for anyone interested in exploring the existential crisis. Addressing the media, Dega Devkumar Reddy, Founder of Dega Arts, which has Conceptualized & Produced Essence of Life said, “Essence of Life attempts to explore the vital human problems and issues through these ancient dance forms and music. In these musical compositions, the English Voice over and Sanskrit lyrics which are the translations of the English voice over, speak of the various human problems that we experience in our lives.”
