  • Mahindra & Mahindra Limited Receives Two Coveted Awards from Frost & Sullivan

    Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra Limited received two coveted Awards from Frost & Sullivan in the Diesel Generators (Gensets) Segment, for being the “Most Preferred Genset Brand Telecom (Cell-site) Segment” and the “Best Bang for Buck in the Indian Genset Market” in 2010. The Awards were presented to Mahindra & Mahindra Limited at the Indian Backup Power Industry Excellence Awards Banquet, organized at the Leela Kempinski, Gurgaon, recently.

    Mahindra & Mahindra Limited was bestowed these top honors for its excellent performance and outstanding contribution to the Genset Industry, by achieving a customer-based leading position in the market. Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices Awards are based on extensive research, market analysis, assessment of participants competing/operating in this market, followed by interactions with various end users. This year, the companies were evaluated on parameters like industry penetration, up-time, trouble-free performance, overall customer satisfaction, and likelihood of buying for future requirements.

    Mahindra Powerol is part of the US $7.1 billion Mahindra Group, which is among the top 10 industrial houses in India. Mahindra entered the Power Generation business in 2002. Within a short span of eight years, Mahindra Powerol has become the leading Genset supplier to the Telecom Sector in India. The Company has increased its revenue from US $1.2 million to US $225 million. It has sold around 150,000 gensets and engines to a wide variety of customers in India. Mahindra Powerol has product offerings ranging from 5-500 kVA Gensets. It has also developed Bio-diesel Gensets for the range 7.5-62.5 kVA. Other than Gensets, Mahindra Powerol also markets engines for applications in agriculture, cranes, forklift, compressors, and concrete mixtures. Mahindra has also extended its marketing efforts in the international arena – in geographies like Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the SAARC countries.
