  • Dominican Republic seeks enhanced Indian investment

    President of the Dominican Republic Dr Leonel Fernandez on Wednesday sought enhanced Indian investment in his country to take the bilateral trade forward from 100 million dollar at present.

    Addressing industry leaders in New Delhi, he said Indian companies can look at the Dominican Republic as a bridge between the Caribbean and the Central American region as well as a gateway to the North American markets. Fernandez said business opportunities for the two sides existed in the areas of agriculture, tourism, renewable energy, leather, Information Technology, mining and infrastructure projects.

    Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for External Affairs, E. Ahamed said India is conscious of the vast potential that exists for greater trade and investment in the Dominican Republic.
