Hyderabad:  A Breast Feeding Kiosk, a first of its kind, to facilitate nursing mothers to be inaugurated at Begumpet Railway Station here in the city tomorrow at 10.30am

 The Kiosk is set up by Rotary International District 3150 with the support from South Central Railways will be inaugurated on Sunday by Rtn Gary C.K. Huang, Chairman, The Rotary Foundation.  The Kiosk is located on the platform 1. Begumpet Railway station is a very important and busy station.  The kiosk is set up as a pilot project for the benefit of the women passengers.

 

Nursing mothers undertaking a train journey will need privacy. With these cubicles around, they will be able to breastfeed away from prying eyes. According to Rotary and Railways, more “baby feeding corners or centres/ cubicles will be set up in the near future at more Railway Stations.

 

Maternal and Childcare is one of the focus area of Rotary International. Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Vijayawada divisions of South Central Railways has issued letters to Rotary District 3150 for setting of the Kiosks in various stations in their divisions.

As a pilot, Rotary International District 3150, has initiated to set up a Kiosk at Begumpet Railway Station and obtained the necessary approvals from the Railway authorities. The kiosk is ready for inauguration on 01.09.2019.

The Rotary Foundation Chair and Past Rotary International President  Rtn Gary Huang from Taiwan, who is on a visit to India, has consented  to inaugurate the Kiosk along with Ms Archana Rachel, Asst Commercial Manager, SCR. Rotary Foundation Trustee Rtn Gulam Vahanvaty from Mumbai, Rotary International District 3150  Governor Rtn Sivannarayana from Guntur will grace the occasion. Past Governor Ravi Vadlamani, Past Governor Sam, Past Governor Ramesh Vangala, Governor Elect Hanmanth Reddy and  Past DRFC Hariharaprasad have consented to be part of the event. Rtn Sesha Sai Kumar is the coordinator for the event.
